Our Aims
Welcome to the South Skye Camera Club, based in Sleat in the Isle of Skye.
The SSCC formed in 2013 has a membership that is interested in all aspects of photography – from film to digital, from traditional landscapes to contemporary images. We are a diverse bunch ranging from full time professional photograghers so those who simply use their phone to create images. However we are drawn together by a love of creating an image that may be to just capture 'the moment' or to generate an 'emotion' or to 'challenge'. The medium of photography allows us all to explore our environment and bring to life wonderful creative ideas.
Our aim is to bring together photographers and those interested in photography from across South Skye and further a field in an enjoyable, stimulating and supportive environment. The club exists to help photographers and its members improve their image-making, both in terms of art and technique.
From September through to June we meet fortnightly for either a practical session or a room based session where ideas can be shared and inspiration sought in a forum that is supportive and collaborative.
New members and visitors are very welcome. You can come and be our guests for a week or two, free of charge, to see if you'd like to join. We look forward to seeing you and welcome you all to join us on our journey!
Where we meet
The club usually meets on the old site of Sabhal Mòr Ostaig. As you drive towards Armadale it is the right hand turn off the A851 signposted to Tarskavaig.
